I just went to Jekyll Island for the first time. In the infamous words of George Castanza's dad, "serenity now" is very appropriate for this golf destination. Jekyll Island has 63 holes of golf at one location. There are 3 - 18 hole courses and one 9 hole course. Each course winds its way through thick Georgia woods and water. All the courses are unique and full of character. While on the island I stayed at Jekyll Oceanfront Resort. This facility has a combination of standard hotel rooms, along with one and two bedroom villas. Amenities include a very good steak restaurant, tiki bar, nice size pool, and live music and karoke on the weekends.
Jekyll Island is the perfect getaway for a group of golfers, just looking to relax and play golf. Jekyll Island is southern hospitality at its finest. From either the Jekyll Oceanfront Resort or the Island Club Hotel - the golf is within 10 minutes.
